Garmin International is pleased to announce the Forerunner 310XT multisport GPS training device. It is Garmin’s first swim-proof training device that is water resistant to 50 meters. The 310XT features a long battery life for up to 20 hours of intense training. And it has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix™ to give it faster satellite reception than the Forerunner 305 units. The Forerunner 310XT also ships with a new waterproof soft-strap heart rate monitor (available July, 2009).The heart monitor is streamlined and more comfortable than ever, yet rugged enough to withstand swimming (note: heart rate data not available while monitor is in water). Users can upload data to Garmin Connect™, a web-based application that lets them analyze, share and store workouts using ANT+™. This combination of powerful features makes the 310XT the perfect training tool for the triathlete or long distance runner.
