The
Nike Triax Elite provides its user with accurate speed, distance and
pace information combined with advanced heart rate and timing
information. Based around the now mature foot pod technology by Dynastream
the sensor contains a sophisticated 3D accelerometer that measures
movement and acceleration in 3 dimensions, it samples this data 100
times a second and from it derives your current speed, even detecting
any changes in stride. When appropriately calibrated 98% accuracy can
be easily achieved but out of the box you can expect at least 95%
accuracy. The data is then transmitted to the Triax receiver watch for
recording and display. The Advantages are obvious for this product, as
it doesn't rely on GPS information it truly is a go anywhere Speed and
distance monitor. To compliment your work out the chest transmitter
also beams essential performance data about your current heart rate to
the watch receiver. Triax timing of course keeps you on track with
full split information and 100 lap memory.
It's at this point that the Elite system steps forward to the job it
was designed for. Post workout you can now down load the data you have
accumulated to your PC, wirelessly! The user-friendly software works
as a training diary and workout calculator. The whole process is bi
directional enabling you to program the watch as well as sync with its
stored data.
